The role of a power steering pressure switch is to communicate with the vehicles engine control module (ECM) by sending data about the fluid in the power steering pressure system of the vehicle. With this data the ECM will adjusts the engine’s operation as required. A power steering switch has two sensors, and a diaphragm. The sensor is exposed to high temperatures which can lead to failure of the sensor.
